How would you describe your style?
We describe ourselves as Natural Light Lifestyle Photographers. We're all about provoking organic emotion and candidly capturing unique photos of our subjects. For the best idea of our style, scroll through our blog.
How long does it take for us to receive our photos?
Our turnaround time is 6-8 weeks, but we tend to post spoilers on our Facebook page. We'll let you know when they're good and ready.
Do I get a disc of all the high-res edited photos?
No way! Discs are for squares. You'll get a flash drive with all the high-res edited photos.
How long do you spend on formal family photos at weddings?
We like to spend about 15 minutes taking a few quick family photos. If you want a picture with your third cousin once-removed, we can grab that at the reception.
What is a first look and should we do one?
A first look is a wedding life-saver. It just is. Here are nine reasons why you should do one and why we may not be the best fit for you if you don't.
Can I upload my wedding photos to Facebook or share the ones you post?
Certainly! You can use any of your photos as long as you promise not to crop or alter them in any way.
What's in your camera bag?
We use a couple of Canon 5D Mark III cameras with an array of L series prime and telephoto lenses, along with a tilt-shift lens. We also like to break out a couple of film cameras if we're feeling saucy.
Can I have all of the unedited photos you took at our wedding?
No sir! You'll receive all of the photos that we took of your day, less any blinking, lame faces, or safety shots we may have taken. We fancy our editing style and never deliver any images that are incomplete.
How many wedding/engagement photos will I get?
You'll receive at least 25 photos of your engagement sessions and at least 500 photos from your wedding day. We like to spoil our clients, though, so it's likely you'll receive way more.
Do you do selective coloring / sepia on your photos?
Not since 2004.
Can we get a wedding book?
You betcha. We exclusively use KISS™ Wedding Books, which are linen or leather, hand-crafted, lay-flat, BOMB wedding albums. Ask us to show you samples or take a look for yourself here.
What should we wear to our engagement session?
I have created a Pinterest board for girls and guys of items that I think photograph uniquely/beautifully and add to images rather than take away. You'll find some interesting items that are nice to look at, but you'll also find that a lot of items are loose and flow-y (they make for dramatic motion photos). Details are also visually appealing. Feel free to use these boards to gather inspiration, but ultimately, this shoot should reflect the two of you! I also want to note that heels tend to get in the way. We don't take thousands of pictures of your feet, so I totally recommend flats, boots, or something that is comfortable for you to move around in.
Do you have any advice from a Photographer's perspective for our wedding day?
Splurge on an awesome (tidy) hotel room or a unique (tidy) location for your getting ready photos, do a first look, keep lighting as natural as possible by utilizing windows and outdoor locations, don't let your DJ talk you into colored mood lighting at your reception, outdoor receptions are best for natural light photographers, have your ceremony close to sunset if you're getting married outside, splurge on the photographer and videographer of your dreams (your photos and videos will outlive your cake and flowers), and the great outdoors will always make for prettier backdrops than indoor locations.
