Charlie + Betsy >> Married

Rachel Gulotta March 19, 2015

I could go on and on about how much I love Charlie + Betsy. I actually recently did. I'll spare you the excessive gushing, but I just have to reiterate that these two are golden. Inside and out. Their wedding day was only continued proof of that.

As you scan these photos, you'll notice thoughtful details, care, and attention. What you won't notice and probably could never imagine is that Charlie + Betsy planned and put together their wedding in about 10 weeks. They poured their lives/talent/time/heart/soul/quirks/love into an entire day that perfectly represented what they're all about. It was of utmost importance to them that their wedding included all of their closest family and friends. And it makes me so happy to say that it totally did.

Their mornings started separately. Charlie got ready surrounded by only the best light, food, and men in his life. Betsy and some of her closest friends and family got ready at Hotel Lincoln. She later learned that it was the same exact place that her grandma had chosen as a getting ready location for her own wedding as well. Great minds / Great light.

They spent the rest of the afternoon together. Once again, they took us on a quick journey around the city - showing us the places that meant the most to them. From their own neighborhood to the street where Betsy's grandmother grew up to Roscoe Village. They gave each of these places new life by making them part of their wedding story.

Their intimate ceremony/reception took place at Volo Restaurant in Roscoe Village. It was decked out in twinkle lights and pretty flowers. When we arrived, Betsy's mom and dad immediately burst through the front door and wrapped her in the biggest hug. After some minor gushing over how good the three of them looked, Daniel and I got to finally see all of the details that the two proudly told us were contributed by Charlie's father. Their ceremony was sweetly led by Betsy's best friend and carefully recounted all of the steps that led the pair to stand under the same arbor that so many other members of Charlie's family had stood under when they were married. Swoon.

When it ended, the tented room quickly filled with that sound of everyone wiping their tears away at once and instant photo snaps and wine and gentle arm squeezes and hugs and deep belly laughs and dinner. As their guests began to make toasts, cell phones started lighting up and buzzing as well wishes from their family and friends who weren't in attendance poured into the room all at once. As if it couldn't have been any more obvious, we were once again reminded that these two are loved. Overwhelmingly. Undoubtedly. Wholly. Loved.

Check out some of our favorite moments from their day posted below:

Alex + Megan >> Married

Rachel Gulotta October 23, 2014

A museum. An art gallery. A coupla cuties. And a whole room totally bursting at the seams with love.

You might remember Alex + Megan from their Logan Square engagement shoot. Well, they're back (and with a little less rain this time). We were stoked that they trusted us to capture their lives, love, family, and friends on one of the most important days of their lives. It was definitely one for the books. And for the blog. Check out a few of our favorites below!

THIS IS RACHEL GULOTTA PHOTOGRAPHY.

we love people, but mostly we just love their quirks.

it's fragments and inches that completely separate each person from anyone else on the planet.

DETAILS AND RAW, ORGANIC EMOTION. THAT'S WHAT WE'RE AFTER.

we tell stories through photos + films in los angeles and around the world.

we love traveling, so take us somewhere new.
